Announcement
Our resin foraging will resume once the snow crusts enough to walk on! You can expect more resins by mid-late March :)
We are progressively adding products available for shipment from Norway, in cooperation with our Sister company Plukka Sjæl, in Norway. All items are still picked, grown, or produced by Yours Truly while in Norway. Please message me if you have any questions.

5 out of 5 starsVery nice and easy to grind for mixing with powdered wood bases for incense. The smell when burned reminds me of New Mexico in the winter, very nostalgic.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship internationally?
On many products, the answer is yes. Some wildlife products are regulated and cannot be shipped abroad from the USA.
Remember:
Always check your local customs and regulations before importing any animal specimens! Just because I'm allowed to export something doesn't mean you're allowed to import it!
What if I want to order something from your website as well?
If you'd like to combine items from Etsy and from our website, DesertRose.us, we're happy to help! Be sure to email me or send an Etsy conversation before or immediately after you place an order. I will combine your orders and shipping charges from both websites!
Will you combine multiple orders?
Yes! If you place multiple orders at the same time we will combine their shipment and refund you the shipping overages. You don't have to request this, I will do it when I see multiple orders.
If you'd like to place an order but have us wait to ship it, please communicate with us before or immediately after ordering so we know to wait! This can be useful if you'd like to snag an item now, but want to wait and see what else is coming in, for example :)
How do you calculate shipping charges?
We use Etsy's "calculated shipping feature". It's not a perfect tool, but it usually works out. This feature calculates the shipping charge based on the item's weight, combined with the item weights of everything in your order.
International customers will find that their shipping charges often exceed $10-$20 USD. Unfortunately international shipping has truly become that expensive for us in the USA. I have no cheaper shipping method available to me.
Yes, I do have to pad my shipping charges a little bit. Etsy now taxes sellers on the shipping fees we collect, so if we do not pad the shipping rate, we start paying out of pocket for shipping. I do not profit from shipping chargers.
Wholesale availability
We can offer slight discounts on larger quantities of some products, but our business is not buying/reselling. Everything we sell takes the same amount of time and resources to produce, regardless of the quantity.
If you're in need of a large quantity of something specific, please let us know and we can custom forage for you!
Where do your bones come from?
The vast majority of our wildlife items are "foraged" on our wilderness excursions. Bones seem to crop up everywhere we go!
All of our bones are wild foraged or farm raised!
Can you explain more about your pricing?
We price our products based on our time and resources. Our Etsy prices are typically 10%+ higher than the prices on our website due to vendor fees & taxes.
Why don't you offer free shipping like so many other shops?
Free shipping may be attractive at a glance, but on average, shoppers pay more in the end. To account for potential losses on combined shipment factors, sellers like me must raise prices 10-20% across the board to make certain we're not paying out of pocket for shipping. In the end, shoppers simply end up spending more than they would have if they paid the actual shipping costs.
***Etsy is encouraging sellers to do this as a way for us to make more money off you.***
